First things first i want to congratulate Amelia’s Magazine on the book launch of Amelia’s Compendium of Fashion Illustration. It had its launch party just down the road at 123 Bethnal Green Road. I would recommend picking up the book if you have interest in either illustration or fashion. It’s in bookstores now and you can even find it in the TATE modern. or to give a bit more income to someone who, by her tweets, works VERY hard buy it through the site here
Recently i have been exploring with the use of typography in my work. By exploring the use of type in relation to the ideals of technology i have been experimenting with basic compositions and the power of the words that were said. I want to explore the idea that design is more about the message portrayed than the image before us.
this is just a basic exploration that I have whipped up. The main idea is that I get opinions from people on their ideas about technology.
I recently sent a questionnaire out to a high number of illustrators and graphic designers to get their opinions on these ideas.
the questionnaire asked
1/ What area of design has, in your opinion, lost the most from technological developments?
2/ What area of design has, in your opinion, gained the most from technological developments?
What aspect of technology has had the greatest impact on your role as a designer/illustrator? In addition, why has it had an impact?
If any designers that wish to give me an insight into their opinions please email me at Kieran05@gmail.com
